#10 Vet in Rochdale, Greater Manchester
Lower Place Veterinary Centre is described in reviews as a small clinic providing day-to-day veterinary care as well as end-of-life support. Owners mention specific hands-on care such as examining a very nervous dog without sedation, taking bloods, giving multiple injections, and shaving/mouth examinations. Several reviewers also value what they see as a “no upselling” approach (not being pushed into “expensive, unnecessary tests or treatments”). However, a minority of recent reviews raise practical concerns that may matter for some owners—difficulty getting through by phone, limited availability, comments about the premises being “grubby and dingy,” and one reviewer saying they “didn’t have a permanent vet.”
Services and situations explicitly referenced in reviews include
Google rating: 4.6 stars from 208 reviews. - Strong praise for end-of-life care: staff “explaining everything,” being gentle, and helping a dog pass peacefully.

I decided to look elsewhere for a vet as this one has become very unreliable. Terrible opening hours. Impossible to get through on the phone and they didn't have a permanent vet. Not what you want especially if it is an emergency. Since moved to a much more reliable vet near home who have a dedicated reception team and lots of vets and vet nurses. Best move I made

On Monday ( 11th) , I had to let my beautiful boy Yorkie ,Samwise, go. Sam was 15 , rescued as a pup, from a breeder and the best companion, you could want. Staff at the vets , were truly wonderful, explaining everything, so gentle with Sam,so supportive with me. He died peacefully and that is what we should try to give to our pets , at the end. Sam ,you were my best Hello and my hardest Goodbye. Thank you to the vet and nurse.

Always get excellent care for all our pets and never charged for expensive, unnecessary tests or treatments, ( I’m a human nurse so I have some idea what’s needed sometimes! ).

These people really care for your pet! It’s a simple as that! My dog is so nervous and hates anyone examining her to the point one vet elsewhere said they would have to sedate her to examine her anyway…. She has allowed all the ladies here to examine her mouth, shave her, take blood and give her 4 separate injection…. Animals do sense when people care! Happy to say my little Tina is on the mend and at the ripe age of 14 we thought that she wouldn’t come out of this with a happy ending so thank you! I will add these do not charge the earth in fact I thought I was under charged until I saw the break down bill! Just amazing all round! 🐶
